Attractions
- Castell Henllys – Reconstructed Iron Age Fort set within 30 acres of beautiful woodland and river meadows. Located a few miles walking distance from the cottage, or about 4 miles in the car. There is a café here to enjoy a spot of lunch
- Newport is approx. 5 miles away, offering a wide range of amenities from shops, galleries, cafes and pubs, as well as its mile long golden sandy beach that’s dog friendly too!
- Preseli Mountains situated within the Pembrokeshire National Park. The highest point being 1758ft and providing excellent walking routes.
- Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cilgerran – Discover the wonders of nature at Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve. Families will love exploring the nature trails and playing in the adventure playground. There is also a Glasshouse Café serving homemade food, with panoramic views around the nature reserve. Dog friendly.
- Cardigan Town is approx. 5 miles away, it is an ancient market town situated on the banks of the river Teifi. A bustling town with lots of shops, galleries, and home to the newly renovated Cardigan Castle. You will find supermarkets here, as well as plenty of places to eat, ranging from pubs, fish and chips shop and Fforest Pizza Tipi with its wood fired pizzas made with local ingredients.
The list for places to visit in this area is endless, we are blessed with a wealth of outdoor space from glorious beaches, to mountains and woodlands… A truly unique place to explore…..
St Dogmaels / Poppit Sands
St Dogmaels/Poppit Sands is a quaint riverside village on the northern border of Pembrokeshire. It is home to St Dogmaels Abbey which has a Coach House visitors centre and Café next to it, and also holds a local producer market every Tuesday. The village is also the start of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which is 186 miles long! Poppit Sands is 1.5 miles from the village, it is a stunning blue flag beach, it welcomes dogs throughout the year, although in high season they are restricted to one side. There is a wonderful beach shop and café.
Pengelli Woods
Less than ½ mile walk from the door. The 160 acre ancient woodland is one of the largest in West Wales, offering extensive wooded walks.
