Pengelli Cottage
Cosy Holiday Cottage | West Wales
Come and enjoy the delights of Pengelli Cottage situated on a 250-acre working beef and sheep farm in the heart of rural Pembrokeshire, this delightful cottage is tucked away down a country lane near the quaint hamlet of Eglwyswrw on the edge of the Preseli Hills. Enjoy waking up on a working farm with cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks and you can even have the option to visit the animals, pick your own fresh eggs and, depending on time of year, bottle-feed the lambs.
We fell in love with Pengelli Cottage the first time we visited with our 3 boys and 2 dogs. We have been back every year since!
The huge enclosed garden with climbing frame and BBQ is perfect for the family. The boys spend hours playing outside.
Every morning we meet with Lindsey and the boys feed the chickens and ducks and collect any eggs. In the spring time we have bottle fed the lambs and even a baby calf. This is always one of the highlights for the kids and by the end of the holiday they are sad to leave their animal friends behind!
The location of the cottage is so peaceful and tranquil, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. But in less than 15 mins in the car you are either in the delightful town of Newport, or the bigger town of Cardigan.
Over the years we have discovered so much to do with the children in this area. There are so many beautiful beaches, activity days out for the kids at places like Dyfed Shire Horse Farm and Castell Henllys Iron Age Village.
We always visit the St Dogs farmers market and buy some local produce and a trip to Pizza Tipi in Cardigan is also high on the agenda.
So glad we found this magical place, I can see us coming here for many more years to come.
We had a lovely holiday in Pengelli Cottage. It is ideally situated for exploring North Pembrokeshire, and is in a very rural location, about 4-5 miles from the shops/restaurants in Newport and Cardigan. The cottage is well laid out, with all the facilities and equipment needed to make a 'home away from home'. The enclosed play area and lawn outside the kitchen window offer ample safe space for energetic children and dogs. There's also a picnic bench and seats for lunch or sundowners.
Lindsey is very hospitable. We appreciated our welcome gifts on arrival. We enjoyed our tour of the farm, and the opportunity to stroke 2 day old lambs and calves.
We had a wonderful time and would love to return.
